Open-Burning

Open air burning of non-compostable vegetation is PERMITTED in the Township of Spallumcheen from November 1 each year to April 30 of the following year unless a fire ban has been issued by the Fire Chief. ONLY the following materials may be burned: 

• Untreated Wood

• Prunings

• Branches

• Tree stumps & trunks 

• Shrubs

• Right to Farm Act Burning 

Please note that open burning is PROHIBITED in Residential zones R1 (McLeod & Udy Subdivisions) and R5 (Mobile Home Parks). If you are unsure what your property is zoned, please contact the Township office at 250-546-3013 prior to burning. 

Open air burning within the City of Armstrong is allowable by permit only, to farmers, orchardists or golf courses on parcels designated under the BC Assessment Authority.
